On August 14th, Cricket West Indies (CWI) conducted its player draft for the 2024/2025 cricket season. The draft required each of the six regional cricket franchises: Windwards Islands Volcanoes, Leeward Islands Hurricanes, Barbados Pride, Guyana Harpy Eagles, Jamaica Scorpions and Trinidad and Tobago Red Force to select five (5) players to complement their respective 10 pre-selected players. Franchises were allowed to select from a pool of 90 players – 15 from each territory.
For one year beginning October 1, 2024 and ending September 30th, 2025, the 15 Windward Island Volcanoes contracted players will be required to live and train in St. Vincent and the Grenadines as part of their preparation for the 2024 CWI Super-50 Championship that begins in October, 2024, and the 2025 CWI regional 4-day Championship.
