The Windward Islands Cricket Board (WICB), in collaboration with Cricket West Indies (CWI), invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Coach for the Windward Islands Volcanoes senior men’s team. The successful candidate will be contracted by CWI and seconded to work with the Volcanoes, supporting the Head Coach in preparing players for regional and international competitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and delivering high-quality cricket training programs.
- Work closely with players to enhance technical, tactical, and mental skills.
- Focus on specialist coaching areas, particularly batting and/or wicket-keeping, depending on expertise.
- Contribute to match preparation, strategy development, and in-game decision-making.
- Support player development pathways and mentor emerging talent.
- Assist in performance analysis, reviewing training footage and match performances.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum Level 2 cricket coaching certification (CWI or equivalent).
- At least 3 years’ experience coaching at an elite or professional level.
- Strong knowledge of cricket techniques, tactics, and performance analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience coaching in Caribbean cricket or similar environments.
- Specialist expertise in batting
- Experience working with both senior and emerging players.
Contract Details
Contract Term: 1-year contract (renewable based on performance)
Location: Based in the Windward Islands
