Kingstown, St. Vincent – The Windward Islands Under-19 Men’s Cricket Team has been named for the upcoming 2025 Cricket West Indies Rising Stars Under-19 Championship, which will take place in St. Kitts from June 30 to July 25, 2025.
As part of their preparation, the 14-man squad will travel to St. Lucia from June 24th to 29th for a pre-tournament camp featuring training sessions and practice matches. The camp is designed to enhance team chemistry and fine-tune performance ahead of the tournament.
The team will be led by West Indies Under-19 captain Stephan Pascal of Dominica. Pascal is expected to play a key role in both leadership and batting. He indicated that he is entering the tournament with a clear focus on helping the Windwards challenge for the title, while also striving for personal excellence as one of the top young cricketers in the region.

The Windward Islands finished outside title contention in the 2024 edition of the tournament and are determined to produce a stronger performance this year. Significant emphasis has been placed on team skills preparation and game awareness in the lead-up to this campaign.
The team was selected following the WINLOTT Inc./WICB Under-19 Tournament, held in April 2025, where Dominica emerged as the champion. The Windward Islands Cricket Board (WICB) expresses sincere appreciation to WINLOTT Inc., whose decade-long sponsorship of youth cricket in the Windwards continues with full support of the U19 squad’s participation in this year’s championship.
In addition to the central training camp, all selected players have been involved in preparatory work in their home islands. This has been supported by a territory-based coaching structure introduced by the WICB, which ensured that each player received technical supervision and conditioning before joining the full squad.
WICB CEO Romel Currency noted:
“We believe in this group of players. Many of them have played together and developed together over the years. The Board made strategic investments to support their growth—appointing coaches in each island to oversee their preparation, ensuring they arrive ready to represent the Windwards with pride and professionalism.”
