Arnos Vale, St Vincent – On Sunday, 8th December 2024, in St. Lucia, the national boy’s Under15 cricket teams of Dominica, Grenada, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines began their quest to lift the 2024 WINLOTT/WICB Championship trophy in the annual WINLOTT/WICB Under15 tournament.
WINLOTT Inc., principally known for its Super 6 lottery game in the four Windward Islands, has been the main sponsor of the Under15 tournament since 2015. Owing to the company’s unwavering support of youth cricket, several players have since gone on to represent the Windward Islands and the West Indies.
The Executive Director of WINLOTT Inc., Ms Allison Thomas, highlighted the importance of youth within the Windward Islands and WINLOTT’s commitment towards their development.
“…Youth development is very important for us at WINLOTT. It is something the Board of Directors take very seriously. Last year, sponsorship amounted to EC$130,000.00, however, to defray rising cost and to also allow the young boys the opportunity to play more games given the extent of the 2024 rainy season, WINLOTT increased it to EC$155,000.00. I am proud to say that WINLOTT continues to answer the call. I want to therefore wish the boys and the Windward Islands Cricket Board a successful tournament, and I also want to encourage our patrons throughout the Windward Islands to continue to support youth development by continuing to play our lottery games.”
The Windward Islands representative, Romel Currency, expressed appreciation to WINLOTT for their continued support of cricket within the Windwards.
“…Enough really can’t be said about the value of WINLOTT’s sponsorship. For close to a decade the company has supported Windward Islands’ cricket. On behalf of the WICB, all the under15 boys in this year’s tournament, and all other stakeholders of Windward Islands cricket I would like to thank WINLOTT for its unparalleled commitment and support. We look forward to the continuation of this relationship.”
The WINLOTT/WICB Under15 tournament is being promoted under WINLOTT’s Super 6 brand. All games will be streamed live on the Windward Island Cricket Facebook Page – https://www.facebook.com/windwardscricket
