ARNOS VALE, ST. VINCENT – When the West Indies Rising Stars Men’s Under 19s squad begins its campaign to become world champions of the ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup scheduled to be held in South Africa from 19 January – 11 February 2024, it will be led by the Windward Islands’ player, Stephen Pascal.

Remarkably, Pascal’s captaincy, marks the fourth consecutive ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup where a Windward Islands’ player was named as captain. In the 2022, 2020, & 2018 World Cups, the captains of the West Indies teams were: Ackeem Auguste, Kimani Melius and Emmanuel Stewart respectively.

As captain, Stephan will have his fellow Windward Islands teammates, Tarrique Edward and Devonie Joseph alongside the twelve other West Indian young men under his charge to once again become champions – a feat they managed in the 2016 World Cup.

The Windward Islands Cricket Board wishes Stephan and his team the very best in the tournament; and would also like to thank all the stakeholders of cricket within the Windward Islands who continue to contribute to the development of our youths.
