The sun was out, the skies clear and cricket exciting as St. Lucia took on their sister Saints at Park Hill while Dominica went head-to-head with the Spice Islanders.

St Lucia Dominates St Vincent & the Grenadines – Match 3

Under the sunny skies, the 3rd match of the Winlott Inc WICB U15 Super 50 unfolded as St Lucia U15 clashed with St Vincent & the Grenadines U15 in a must-win encounter for the latter. St Lucia, having won the toss and electing to bat, emerged victorious by a commanding margin of 85 runs.

St Lucia set a formidable target of 190/9 in their allotted 50 overs. Jeanille Williams led the batting charge with a solid 30 runs, while Aiden Scholar and Neil Poyotte made valuable contributions with 27 and 24 runs, respectively. The St Vincent & the Grenadines bowlers put up a fight, with Juarez Baptiste claiming three crucial wickets.

In response, St Vincent & the Grenadines faced a challenging task and fell short, being bowled out for 105 runs in 35 overs. Zack Thomas top-scored with 28 runs, but the team struggled against the disciplined bowling attack of St Lucia. The decision to bowl first after winning the toss proved to be a strategic move for Grenada, as they successfully restricted Dominica to a total of 104 all out in 31.5 overs.

Dominica’s innings witnessed notable performances, with Aiden Burton top-scoring at 28 runs in 64 balls before being run out by the sharp fielding of Xzavion Rock. Captain Earsinho Fontaine contributed 21 runs, but the batting side struggled against Grenada’s bowling attack. Aravinda Bishop led the charge, claiming four wickets for just 23 runs in 9.5 overs.

In response, Grenada faced a challenging target but showcased resilience to secure the win with 105/6 in 35.4 overs. Jamie Wickham played a pivotal role, remaining unbeaten at 27 runs and steering his team to victory. Aiden Burton, who excelled with the bat, also showcased his bowling prowess, taking three crucial wickets for Dominica.
